All started with a biological course on behaviour of zoo animals at the University of Vienna in winter semester 2010/2011. Topic: Vocalization/Bioacoustics of African elephants under human care.

After this practical course, I kept being keen on elephants as a regular visitor at Zoo Vienna. Moreover, I started to collect possible enrichment fun for zoo elephants.

In June 2012 I visited backstage the elephants of Nyíregyházi Állatpark – Sóstó ZOO.

In 2013 I had the opportunity for a poster presentation on bambooforelephants at the Zoo Animal Welfare Workshop at Ouwehands Dierenpark/Zoo Rhenen, NL.
